Marion's Virtual Art Gallery

This is a small sample of the many paintings produced by Dutch artist Marion Nicolas. Most of these painting are acrilic on canvas. There are so many more, that I would not be able to keep up!

The sample here is from a set of photographs that I scanned in. They are all fairly high resoluttion, so the pictures are big, most of them close to 1Mb at 3000x3000 pixels (more or less). Taking a photo of a painting and then scanning the print is not a perfect process by far. It introduces artifacts such as dust marks, scratches, geometric distortions, and (ugh) changes the colors. The actual paintings are far more beautiful and have much more depth and detail than any photo will ever render.

If you want to use these pictures for a background on your computer, you'll have to scale them to the proper size. I haven't yet had the time to do this.
